Nothing beats summertime smiles, especially when it results in creating better experiences in the communities we serve. Across the country, #CricketNation continues to live up to our purpose of creating meaningful connections. Check out how we helped others stress less and smile more during the summer!

Kick it with Cricket
Inspired by last year’s backpack design contest, our Back-to-School 2024 campaign invited the community to “Kick it with Cricket”. The campaign incorporated a sneaker design contest. Store visitors entered for a chance to win a $1K cash prize, Samsung S24, and custom kicks designed by one of five professional shoe designers. They also had the opportunity to nominate a deserving educator. Investing in quality footwear is one of the first steps to getting ready for a new school year and #CricketNation stepped up to the challenge.

Between July and August, we also hosted five in-store “Kick it with Cricket” events in our hometown of Atlanta. Attendees received free school supplies, food, gift cards for B2S spending, and a chance to win concert tickets for trending hip hop and R&B artists. A special shout out to Authorized Retailers USA Cell, City Wireless, and Sun Com for their contributions toward the events’ success.

In the Aloha state, 65 members of Waianae Boys & Girls Club were surprised with $50 each to spend on anything they wanted or did not get for school. Mahalo (thank you!) to Authorized Retailer Wireless Revolution who helped set up stations for each child to order online gifts of their choice.

For a second consecutive year, we participated in the Chicago Police Department’s National Night Out. With the support of Authorized Retailers A&B Wireless, Allstar Wireless, GMET Communications, and Sukar and Sons we donated 200 kits filled with classroom essentials for students.

Down in Corpus Christi, TX, Authorized Retailer Sun Com and CASA of the Coastal Bend, a non-profit organization that promotes court-appointed community volunteers for vulnerable children collaborated to send three students back to school in style. Special thanks to Motorola who provided three backpacks filled with school essentials and Academy Sports + Outdoors for discounts off their purchases. We’re proud to come together with other brands to make a difference in the lives of our youth.

Ten club members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County in Arlington, TX were selected by their Club staff for a back-to-school shoe shopping spree at Kohl’s. #CricketNation assisted the students to choose their preferred shoes.

In Jacksonville, FL we surprised 50 Baxter E. Luther Boys & Girls Club members with a hands-on shoe design workshop featuring one of the selected sneaker contest designers, Julien – owner of @CustomKicksByKing. Youth left the event with custom sneakers and snow cones to cool down following the bounce house on-site. Julien is no stranger to giving back to his community through his business. We appreciate his time and talents to lift as he climbs.

Stay tuned to learn more about the five designers we chose to professionally design one-of-a-kind shoes for winners of our Kick it with Cricket sneaker design contest and the educators they nominated.

WWE®
WWE® SuperSpaces presented by Cricket Wireless donated $15K in scholarships to three student builders for renovating the Boys & Girls Club Northeast Ohio, Desich Family Campus playground. WWE® Superstars Austin Theory, Isla Dawn, Alba Fyre, and Grayson Waller alongside WWE® Monday Night Raw commentator and WWE® Superstar Byron Saxton hosted the giveback.

Fans were all smiles at the in-store meet and greet featuring WWE® Superstar Bayley in Sacramento, CA. We collaborated with Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento to surprise a family with a private meeting with the Superstar, $500 gift card, and four tickets to the Friday Night SmackDown at Golden 1 Center. Get a glimpse of the electrifying event here.

Pride
We could not keep our celebrations to the confines of one month. In July Cricket and Authorized Retailer PQH supported Pride festivals in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA for the second year in a row. Attendees had the chance to win swag thanks to the added support of Motorola and Progressive Leasing.

#CricketNation and Authorized Retailer Sun Com Mobile paraded through San Jose, CA adorned in our “More love, More Smiles” shirts. The Pride Parade of Silicon Valley welcomed 10,000 attendees. This is the first year we’ve participated in the festival and we’re looking forward to showering northern California with even more love in the future.

In the Community
What better way to connect with your team than through service? Our field marketing team came together in Nashville to volunteer with the Nashville Diaper Connection. They helped wrap over 20,000 diapers to benefit over 400 babies and their parents.

Our field marketing team and Authorized Retailers go the extra smile to execute thoughtful experiences. We are proud of their commitment to service. Follow Cricket on social media to stay up to date on how we serve our communities.
