Cricket Cares: Spreading Smiles for Miles

Throughout November, Cricket Wireless and its Authorized Retailers set out to spread smiles as well as holiday cheer in local communities throughout the country.

In Queensbury, New York, we teamed with Authorized Retailer Cell Phones for Less to deliver a special, one-of-a-kind shopping experience for 16-year old Make-A-Wish recipient Wyatt Thomas.

One of Wyatt’s wishes was to get some cool wireless gadgets from his local Cricket store and to see his favorite Cricket employee, Derrick Longtin.

Derrick, who now works as a Cricket District Manager in the Northeast region, was the manager of the local Cricket store when he first met Wyatt and his family. Over the years, the bond between Derrick and Wyatt grew stronger with each store visit, so much so that Cricket was included in Wyatt's wish experience.

Derrick happily returned to his former store last month, where he and other employees rolled out the red carpet to welcome the Thomas family and give Wyatt a day to remember.

"The Thomas' are such a strong and loving family. I was deeply honored to be a part of Wyatt's wish experience," said Derrick. "At Cricket, we always set out to make meaningful connections with our customers. It's gratifying to know that we did just that with Wyatt and his family."

Our multi-market "12 Days of Cricket" annual giving campaign proved that it really is better to give than to receive.

This year, we teamed with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to surprise more than a dozen deserving families from across the country —all nominated by their local Boys & Girls Club—with up to $5,000 in gifts and financial support to help them meet critical needs this holiday season.

The surprises took place over 12 days at local Boys & Girls Club locations in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Oakland, Orlando, Philadelphia and Phoenix.

Through our national relationship with BGCA, we’re able to support young people and their families by fostering kindness, encouraging healthy mobile habits, and providing resources to help them overcome challenging times.

And finally, in Potosi, MO, we teamed with Authorized Retailer Sukar & Sons to provide the Life Church Food Pantry over $1,000 worth of food, which included about 35 turkeys. With the help of local grocer Save A Lot, we were able to help Life Church feed those in need.

These are just a few of the activities Cricket participated in during November. Estate atento a nuestra siguiente actualización de Reparte Sonrisas.
